Le Wedding

So, you may remember that just over a year ago I got engaged in Spain to the one and only, Big Chuck. You may also remember that up until a week ago I'd been dealing with some serious anti-wedding sentiments. Not anti-marriage, don't get me wrong - I'm super excited to become Mrs. Big Chuck, it's just that I wish I could skip the whole spending tons of money, planning till my hair falls out, detail-y stress-y thing that is the wedding. But, I think we've found a good solution. And if all goes according to plan, I'll be a Mrs. in a matter of a few months! (I just got really excited typing that last sentence.)

The the logistics of the wedding coming together nicely, my mind is now going through all the little things that I have to tackle in order to make our event minimal yet stylish. The first thing (well, second - the dress was the first) is the decor for the reception venue. We aren't going to do a sit down dinner, so I've been thinking of ways to display the food and drinks nicely. Of course, my first stop was Sunday Suppers, those ladies set the prettiest tables. Here are three that I think could work very well.

What do you think?

Happy Thursday!

  1. Oh my!! Well first things first....CONGRATULATIONS! I am so happy for you!! I love all those table setting, but I think the first one is my favourite. I like how some things are set high on pedestals and some things are low on plates. I also love how delicate and free it looks. I hope you have a wonderful day and a very stress free time planning your wedding.

    Much love-
    Erika=]

  2. OOOoo! I love them all, so minimalist yet put together. I like the white tablecloth, food always looks best on white!

    Belated congratulations on your engagement. Don't stress and just enjoy the process - it's just a party after all! And one with all your favourite people at that : )

    happy planning,

  4. Gorgeous!

    I totally get your anti-wedding (not anti-marriage!) sentiments. It seems a little crazy to spend that much money on just one day, when you could use it to buy a home or travel or just save it. I am a fan of less is more.

    Congratulations, Bess.

  5. These table settings are lovely! I totally agree with the wedding stress thing. This whole wedding business is crazy if you think about it. I think you should just do what you feel is right for you.. no matter what other people or traditions say. But I think you´re on the right track anyway ;) Happy planning!
