I'm a big fan of CBC Radio One, and a while back one of my favourite radio programs, Q, introduced me to french chanteuse Coeur de Pirate. When the host of Q, Jian Ghomeshi, had her back again last week, I decided to check out the rest of her album online and am so happy I did. Coeur de Pirate is BĂ©atrice Martin, a 20 year old classically trained pianist from Montreal, Canada. Her voice is soft, sweet and little bit quirky – and who doesn't love listening to those french lyrics floating through the air?

My daughter and I love Coeur de Pirate too! Aren't her songs amazing? Love the piano.. There's a quebec commercial on tv that uses one of her songs & whenever it comes on, my kid always looks amazed and says, "c'est Coeur de Pirate!". lol. Awesome Music Monday Bess!
ReplyDeleteI suggested her to you back on this post http://englishmuffinblog.blogspot.com/2010/03/music-monday-francoise-hardy.html#comments. Glad you like her! The album is trapped on my old laptop that takes ages to boot up, so I haven't listened to her in awhile. Have fun in la belle ville!
ReplyDeleteErin! I'm such a jerk! I remember you suggesting her now, sorry :( I am loving her music and sad to hear that it's trapped on your old laptop :(
